Coming back for a bit to the World of Anu, we now have an opportunity to see yet another spider that had taken to the water.
The Surface Skimmer is a relative of the Paddle Spooder. Much like its cousin, it is also an aquatic herbivore, though it limits itself to living on the surface of the water. It wanders from one clump of aquatic moss to another in order to drink plant juices. it manages to stay afloat thanks to a fan of bristly hairs that cover its abdomen. With an increased surface area, it can use its fuzzy legs to swim across the surface of the water without ever going under.
In this scene here, we can see Aisha observing a few Surface Skimmers (along with a few Paddle Spooders) "attacking" a water moss stalk. This particular species of water moss can grow up to 1,6 meters tall often breaching the surface of the water, which makes it a valuable resource for Surface Skimmers.
